The Learning Strategy System began as a UX design exercise to address a pervasive real-world challenge: the lack of comprehensive, objective tools for career and educational navigation. As I developed the framework, it became clear that its value extended far beyond a design portfolio piece, it had the potential to provide genuine, high-stakes support for people facing life-altering financial decisions.

A Mission Rooted in Experience

I am a firm believer that education is invaluable. However, this system is not designed to discourage college attendance; rather, it is designed to discourage floating through it. Too many students pursue degrees due to cultural pressure or a lack of visible alternatives, only to find themselves burdened by excruciating debt and a lack of market alignment.

This project is deeply personal. Having dropped out of college myself, I realized that the guidance available was often either rife with misinformation or dangerously simplistic I don’t like simplism. Major life decisions require more than a "follow your heart" mantra; they require a quantitative, strategic, and rigorous audit of one's reality.

UX Thought Process

Leveraging my background in UX Design I have treated the student journey as a user experience that needs optimization. Throughout this system, you will see the influence of professional research methodologies, including:

  • Journey Mapping: Identifying the emotional and financial friction points in the 4-year degree path. (Some of this process will be shared once the system has been completed)
  • Problem Statements & Personas: Identifying who is most at risk of "high-regret" outcomes. (Some of this process will be shared once the system has been completed)
  • Strategic Frameworks: Correlating complex themes like interest rates, opportunity costs, and emotional resilience into a cohesive decision matrix.

Why Accessibility Matters

Career planning is never a "one-size-fits-all" equation. It is influenced by living conditions, mental well-being, digital literacy, and financial stability. By making this system freely accessible, I want that anyone—regardless of their background—can perform a "Degree Inflation Audit" or calculate their "Payback Period" without a paywall.

This is an invitation to take your future seriously. Prepare your notebook, engage with the data, and take control of your investment.

As extra resources, the “Strategic Analysis Toolkit” below will add more tips, note taking process and others.

Notes

Notes for Part 4: Questions based self assessment tool book

Initially I thought I was going to add this section as a static page, or a tool (similar to part 2) - however, for the tool to work I would’ve needed a different approach.

After doing some analysis (similar tools - market analysis) I noticed room for development, but I want to do that right, functional and well… — it ended up with a conclusion on a bigger approach that will need a hugeeee team. Therefore, it's going to be a project for later.

Now, I’ve decided to turn part 4 into a book - there will be a pdf version (free) and a physical paid version (slightly modified from the pdf version). I’ve tested some platforms, and it will be sold through amazon kdp.

I’ve currently made the skeleton, and it should be added by no later than May 20th, 2026.
